Vinyl care and maintenance

Preventative maintenance & regular cleaning

It’s not hard at all to take care of vinyl—there are just a few easy maintenance steps. Regularly following these tips will ensure that your vinyl continues to look as beautiful as the day it was installed.

For vinyl, like most flooring, it's important to invest in a good-quality entry mat to trap dirt, sand, and other substances that would otherwise be tracked onto your floor. A doormat will also help protect your flooring from premature wear.

Regularly sweep your vinyl floor to remove dirt and grit. You'll want to mop occasionally using a special cleaner we can recommend. Avoid using detergent or soap-based products, which will dull your floor's shine.

Most vinyl floors have finishes that do not require additional buffing, shining, or waxing-these actions might harm the finish.

Vinyl floors can be slippery when wet, so use caution when walking on them after mopping.

Handling spills & stains

Vinyl is easy-care, but we have a few tips to help with spills and stains! Be sure to wipe up any spills right away with a dry cloth. You should never leave a liquid spill to air dry.

If you do experience a stain on your vinyl floor, don't use steam or harsh chemicals to try and clean up. Consult your manufacturer's guide for additional help.
